Daegu:
Daegu, also spelled Taegu, is officially called the Daegu Metropolitan City. Location of the city is the Korea's south-east near the Nakdong River and the Geumho River of the Gyeongsang (Yeongnam) region. The Daegu basin where the city is in, is the middle part and the rare plain of the Gyeongsang region. It made the city an administrative, economic, and cultural center.
The area is a major textile center for Korea, producing vast amounts of cloth and clothing. It also serves as a major hub for metal and machine industries, with several manufacturing plants from the nation's largest conglomerates. Agriculturally, the area has much farmland and is especially known for its apples (resulting from grafting American apple tress to local crab apple trees by Presbyterian missionaries in the early 20th century).
